Our CRF450R changed the game back in 2002. It jumped out of the gate and has led the pack ever since, thanks to constant development from HRC and input from the world’s best MX riders. We've taken the CRF450R’s incredibly fast championship winning formula, its lightweight agility and turning ability and added even more to the mix. The chassis and suspension are totally redesigned, for laser guided cornering stability over rough terrain. The engine builds extra punch onto its monster low-rpm performance, with precise throttle control. Want to ride an advantage? You're looking at it.
Superior handling starts with an exceptional frame, and the CRF450R delivers. The updated chassis features optimised rigidity and reduces weight, while enhancing responsiveness and stability. Feel the difference in comfort and performance as you take on the track in front of you.
Features
New Triple Clamps
New top and bottom triple clamps work with the new frame, revised fork, new front axle, and new steering stem for a more consistent suspension feel throughout the stroke. Together, the new hardware helps improve the responsiveness, rigidity, and turning performance of the new line. The road to perfect balance starts here.
Rear Suspension Linkage
The new frame design on the CRF450R leaves room for a specialised rear shock. The shock’s valving resets fast for better response and handling on any terrain. It even features a special steel spring that cuts weight without cutting performance, so you can own the track - lap after lap.
Engine Mode Select Button
Customise your engine's power delivery on the fly with the convenient handlebar-mounted button, allowing you to effortlessly switch between Standard, Smooth, and Aggressive modes to suit varying track conditions.
Front Brake Caliper
The CRF450R’s front brake caliper features an updated piston and seal for consistent braking performance throughout every ride. New machined accents add a premium finish that blends with the bike's sleek lines to keep your CRF looking as good as it performs.
Electric Starter
Our engineers made the bike lighter by using an electric starter and lithium-ion battery.
Single-Muffler Exhaust
The single-pipe header routes close to the center of the bike, and its light overall construction helps improve weight distribution. A new design for 2025 helps produce more controllable power in the low- and mid-rpm range.
Honda Selectable Torque Control
Honda Selectable Torque Control with three levels of intervention. HSTC monitors rpm spikes and responds by temporarily reducing torque to aid rear traction.
Hydraulic Clutch
Inspired by our Grand Prix MX machines, Honda's first hydraulically actuated dirt bike clutch offers a 10% lighter clutch lever pull. It eliminates the need for cable adjustments, delivering optimal performance on even the longest motos.
HRC Launch Control
We're talking about a special ECU program here: push the button to select the mode, hold the throttle open, release the clutch, and the CRF450R will do the rest, launching you into the first turn with a big advantage. It turns your bike into a holeshot-seeking machine!
449cc Unicam® Engine
The Unicam® cylinder head offers a compact, lightweight design with a narrow valve angle, which improves combustion chamber efficiency, increases compression ratio, and lowers the center of gravity.
Redesigned Airbox
The new shape provides a straighter pathway for airflow to deliver more torque and better throttle control. The CRF450R’s air filter features a spring-loaded clip design and optimised rubber gasket for easy cleaning and improved serviceability.
Subframe Relocated
The new mounting point optimises lateral rigidity and reduces energy transmission from the rear of the bike to the front. Rear-shock removal time has been reduced by eliminating the need to detach the subframe to access the shock.
SHOWA Spring® Fork
The 49mm Showa® fork features a conventional spring design that helps increase front-suspension precision, handling and feel. New springs, seals and valving improve the consistency of the stroke feel throughout the entire range of travel, delivering a smoother and more controlled ride.
